米ボルチモアを拠点に活動するシンセポップ・バンド。なんといってもバンドのフロントマンのSamuel Herring（サミュエル・ヘリング）のオッサン風貌と熱いヴォーカルが際立っている。2014年に名門レーベル「4AD」との契約を果たしリリースした4枚目のアルバム『Singles』が世界的にヒット。2017年に5枚目のアルバム『The Far Field』をリリース。ライブバンドとしても定評がある。
